Antique Brass Decorative Hasp by Dophee 12pcs Wooden Box Latch

Description

Product Overview

The Dophee Antique Brass Decorative Hasp set delivers a timeless, retro aesthetic while offering robust security for a wide range of storage solutions. Each of the twelve hasps is forged from high‑grade iron, then treated with a bronze‑tone plating that resists corrosion, tarnish, and everyday wear. Measuring just 1.06″ x 1.14″ (27 mm × 29 mm), the compact size fits discreetly into jewelry boxes, wooden trunks, dollhouse cabinets, and even small metal lockers. The latch loop diameter of 5 mm accommodates standard padlocks, allowing you to customize the level of protection based on the value of the contents.

Every unit ships with a set of precision‑cut mounting screws (8 mm × 2.5 mm) and a simple protruding mounting style that can be installed with a standard screwdriver or a small drill. The design embraces a vintage, retro pattern that blends seamlessly with antique‑style décor, making the hasp not only functional but also a decorative accent. With a total weight of just 1.76 oz per piece, the hardware is lightweight enough for easy handling yet sturdy enough to endure repeated use.

Usage

These hasps are engineered for versatility. Whether you are securing a handcrafted jewelry box, reinforcing a wooden chest, or adding a finishing touch to a custom cabinet, the Dophee hasp provides a reliable locking point. The included mounting screws simplify DIY installation, allowing hobbyists and professional woodworkers alike to affix the latch without the need for specialized tools. The antique bronze finish complements both dark mahogany and light pine finishes, making it an ideal choice for restoration projects, vintage‑style furniture, and modern pieces that seek an aged look.

Beyond personal projects, the hasp is well suited for small‑business owners who produce gift boxes, boutique storage solutions, or decorative containers for retail display. Its retro charm adds perceived value, while the sturdy iron construction ensures the product can be shipped and handled without damage. The set’s compatibility with standard padlocks means you can upgrade security simply by swapping the lock, giving you flexibility as your needs evolve.

FAQ

What size padlock will fit the hasp loop?

The latch loop has a 5 mm diameter, which accommodates most standard padlocks ranging from 5 mm to 7 mm shank sizes. For larger locks, you may need to drill a slightly bigger hole, but the original size works well for typical jewelry box locks.

Can the hasp be painted or finished to match my project?

Yes, the bronze finish can be lightly sanded and painted if you prefer a different color. However, we recommend using a clear protective coat after painting to preserve the anti‑corrosion properties of the underlying iron.

Do the mounting screws fit standard wood thicknesses?

The supplied 8 mm × 2.5 mm screws are designed for wood panels up to 5 mm thick. For thicker material, you can use longer screws of the same gauge, ensuring the head sits flush with the surface.

Is the set compatible with other brands of hardware?

Absolutely. The hasp’s simple protruding mounting style and standard screw dimensions make it compatible with most cabinet and box hardware from other manufacturers, allowing you to mix and match as needed.

What is the return policy if a piece arrives damaged?

We offer a 30‑day replacement guarantee. If any hasp or screw arrives damaged, contact our support team with a photo of the issue, and we will ship a replacement set at no additional cost.
